Quebec Investor Program
Québec is a predominantly French-speaking province in eastern Canada with 2 vibrant cities in its south, connected by the Chemin du Roy highway along the Saint Lawrence River.
The Quebec Immigrant Investor Program (QIIP) aims to have experienced business directors/managers/owners to contribute to this province’s growth and long-term prosperity by investing cash in Quebec economy through the designated financial intermediaries.
This program is direct investment option but rather a complex program and very selective as each year thousands of people apply for immigration to Canada under this program. The advantage of this program over other existing Canadian immigration programs for business managers and owners is that there are no requirements for presenting a French or English language test results.
Previously, there was another program for the business people to use for permanent residency of Canada which was offered by the federal government of Canada. That program allowed applicants to settle in any provinces except Quebec when they got approved, however the Federal Immigrant Investor Program (FIIP) was closed on June 19, 2014.
The followings are the main current requirements of Quebec immigrant investor program:
- Have, alone or with your accompanying spouse or your common law partner, legally acquired net assets of at least C$2,000,000, excluding any amounts received by donation less than six months before your application is submitted
- Have management experience for at least two years in the five years preceding the application for selection.
- Make a five-year term investment of C$1,200,000 with Investissement Québec - Immigrants Investisseurs Inc.
