Alberta PNP- Self-Employed Farmer Stream

alberta

Alberta is a one of the Western provinces in Canada. Its landscape encompasses mountains, prairies, desert badlands and vast coniferous forests.

There are more than 43,000 farms and ranches of various sizes and types, from Cardston to Hay River. Alberta is the leading producer of grain and canola in Canada. More than five million cattle are raised in Alberta or used for dairy production in any given year.

The Alberta Immigrant Nominee Program (AINP) Self-Employed Farmer Stream wants to attract applicants with farm management skills and sufficient financial resources to invest in a farming business in Alberta.

Applicants should first submit an extensive business plan to Alberta Agriculture and Forestry (AAF) office . Once the AAF approved their plan, the AINP accepts their application. Since the applicants should provide evidence of their research regarding Alberta farming environment and conditions, It is highly recommended that the applicants visit Alberta personally and make their own findings prior to submitting their application.

The advantage of this program over similar provincial programs is that the AINP Self-Employed Farmer Stream applicants do not have a minimum language and education requirements.

However, they must be able to invest a minimum of CAD $500,000 in the eligible farm and Show a minimum net worth of CAD $500,000 as well as  proof of farm management skills.
