Quebec Enterpreneur Program
Québec is a predominantly French-speaking province in eastern Canada with 2 vibrant cities in its south, connected by the Chemin du Roy highway along the Saint Lawrence River.
The Quebec Entrepreneur Program is for immigrant entrepreneurs with the ability to establish a new business or acquire and operate an existing business in the province of Quebec. Successful applicants are able to immigrate to Quebec, where they will either carry out their business project.
Latest update: MIDI has announced that Quebec Entrepreneur was accepting 60 new applications between the dates of August 15th, 2018 and March 31st, 2019.
This program program has been started 2018 and it has two streams under which an entrepreneur can apply for Certificate of Selection of Quebec (CSQ):
Stream 1
This stream is for candidates receiving support from a business accelerator, a business incubator or a university entrepreneurship center, and who wish to open and manage a business in Quebec.
The business can be established by the candidate alone or with partners.
The partners can be Canadians or foreign nationals, in which case they are limited to three.
For being accepted, applicants must settle in Quebec to create and operate a business which is supported by a service offer from business institutions such as accelerator, incubator, or a university entrepreneurship centre. It can be operated alone, or in a group.
Stream 2
This stream includes operating a business that the entrepreneur created or purchased. The entrepreneur candidate must invest capital funds of $200,000 if the business is located outside the metropolitan area of Montreal, or $300,000 for a business located within the metropolitan area of Montreal.
In order to be eligible for this stream, the candidate must settle in Quebec to create a new business, or acquire an existing business, and manage the business operations.
This stream includes operating a business that the entrepreneur created or purchased.The entrepreneur candidate must invest capital funds of $200,000 if the business is located outside the metropolitan area of Montreal, or $300,000 for a business located within the metropolitan area of Montreal.
Requirements
- Have net assets of at least $900,000 CAD
- having at least 25% of its equity capital If the applicant is creating a new business, and they must own and control at least 51% of its equity capital If the applicant is acquiring an existing business.
